Helia Phoenix – writer, and some other things too
I’m an award-winning blogger, writer of books, and music, travel and culture journalist.
For the past 20 years I’ve been working in content production of some sort. In that time I’ve worked on radio, made film documentaries, and been published by The Guardian, Rolling Stone, and others.
Modern day bloguese, flaneuse, blah blah blah, I’ve been a magazine editor, writer of fiction and non-fiction, and have worked in print, web, audio, film, but mostly digital. Currently I’m media manager at Visit Wales, the tourist board for our beautiful country, where I manage our two million strong (and rising) social community, and programme our editorial content.
I am also Creative Director of We Are Cardiff (one of the top city blogs in the world (according to The Guardian!) and one of Wales’s top 20 most influential Twitter feeds. In 2017, I was named listed as a visionary in Cardiff Life’s Top 50 People building a brighter future for the city.
I’m based in Cardiff, as you might have guessed. It’s the capital of Wales. It’s a pretty great city and I’ve got a lot of love for it. If you’re looking for comment about the city, I work as a writer-for-hire (ie, rent-a-gob). If you’re interested in hiring me, I’m on heliaphoenix@icloud.com.
